Super Mom Meme
Upvotes 1 year agoIt's true. Ive talked to MANY people who have Pitt bulls (with cropped ears) and MOST of those dogs were rescued. I dont think it is difficult to imagine. If you are THAT much of an idiot to do that to a dog, purely because you want your dog to look that way, you probably arent the type of person that is likely to keep a dog either. Those idiots are usually the same people who, when the dog has ONE accident on the floor as a puppy.they dump them somewhere! That being said, please leave your dog with everything it was born with (except for the ability to create offspring!). Upvotes 1 year agoIt's very different than piercing an ear, because humans can consent to piercings.

(I myself don't agree to it on infants but that's a different story). Animals have no say in undergoing a cosmetic procedure. Not to mention docking is done without anesthesia which has to be awful. And what you are referring to with feral cats is called 'ear tipping', which is relatively painless.
It also avoids needless trapping and surgical procedures. This is not for cosmetics or breed standards, it's to reduce feral colonies for one and to alert people the cats are already sterile.
Just like when dogs get the green 'tattoos' at shelters. Upvotes 1 year agoAgain I understand that's not always the case, but this dog came from a breeder who is a big proponent of cropping. In fact the dogs get their ears cropped as puppies. Not my business but just an opinion. It's cosmetic and it's painful for them. The man in the post seems to love and cherish his dogs a lot, but like I said one passed away young due to health issues which is probably from poor breeding standards from a breeder more focused on looks than health. Responsible breeders should always put the dogs health as the number one priority.
It's awful to lose a dog because of health issues caused by breeding. Upvotes 1 year agoIt's true. Ive talked to MANY people who have Pitt bulls (with cropped ears) and MOST of those dogs were rescued. I dont think it is difficult to imagine.
